Journal of Pacific Northwest Maritime History
The Sea Chest chronicles the maritime history of the Puget Sound area, coastal Washington, British Columbia, and Alaska. Printing since 1967, it presents a scholarly blend of thoroughly researched articles and first-hand accounts that will appeal to both the professional historian and general reader alike. The journal has become a widely regarded pillar of maritime history.
Puget Sound Maritime members receive three issues each year and can access The Sea Chest Digital Archive.

As a community publication, The Sea Chest relies on people like you to provide the rich stories and research that fills these pages. We welcome submissions from anyone, ranging from 100-word Around the Sound news updates to feature articles of 2,500-5,000 words.
Feel free to contact the Editor with an article or idea. Please note we cannot pay authors for articles or promise they will get published. All articles must pass review by our Editorial Board before advancing to publication.
