We provide educational programming in a variety of ways. We participate in MOHAI’s Free First Thursday program, which encourages visitation to the museum admission fee free on the first Thursday of every month. On these days, PSM can be found with crafts and family-friendly activities in the fourth floor McCurdy Family Maritime Gallery. Check out our Events Calendar to see what we’ll be doing next!
We also partner with other organizations to be guest speakers, give tours of our facility, and provide family-friendly activities at special events.
Through our YMTA program we raise awareness about the current maritime industry and the great careers available in it. This field is vital to our current economy, as well as preserving and cultivating the maritime heritage of our region. By attending career fairs and providing scholarships for students training for maritime jobs, we hope to excite students about maritime culture.
